Automatic Voter Registration

Automatic Voter Registration

Voting is a right that we gain at birth - we should not have to "sign up" to exercise our right to vote!

Pennsylvania should have automatic voter registration. There are currently 18 states - plus the District of Columbia - that have automatic registration. Every citizen in PA, upon reaching 18 years of age, should be registered to vote automatically.

Upon turning 18, citizens of Pennsylvania would be registered as an independent and could declare a party if they choose to do so. In addition, as you can now, you can update your registration to change parties at any time. And, prior to their 18th birthday, they may opt out of automatic registration if they want.

Voter Registration in Our Community

In Beaver Falls, less than half of voting-age individuals are registered to vote. It is time that we stop allowing our legislators to over-complicate the democratic process.

Mail-in ballots are a good first step - but what good are mail-in ballots if you aren’t registered to vote?

I also believe that we need to do a better job of educating our citizens on the voting process. There are so many myths about voting that were created with the intention of suppressing voters.

Voting Myths & Facts

Check out the Voting Myths & Facts section on my website. I assure you, this sort of education is only the beginning of my plans to educate our citizens.
